The Anatomic Pathology – Cytopathology department at SUNY Upstate Medical University is currently seeking a Cytopreparatory Technician/Technologist and a Cytotechnologist to join their team.
The Cytopreparatory Technician/Technologist performs all aspects of specimen processing for cytopathology evaluation. Prepares and stains slides for diagnostic evaluation. Performs correlation of all incoming specimens with corresponding test orders. Maintains required laboratory standards for specimen processing.

The Cytotechnologist will perform screening and evaluation of gynecologic (Thin-Prep and ThinPrep Image Guided Paps) and non-gynecologic samples (including fine needle aspiration (FNA) cases. Perform adequacy assessment of fine needle aspiration specimens. Provide back-up for cytopreparatory functions. Provide instruction for pathology residents and students as needed.
