Arbour Senior Care is currently seeking an experiencedÂ Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work out of their nursing facilities in the Northampton, MA area.
Applicants should possess expertise in consultation with individuals who need emotional, psychological, and behavioral support. Including Medication Administration. Individual therapists will work collaboratively with the nurse to provide comprehensive approaches to patients' needs. Flexible schedule to accommodate work/life balance.
To provide diagnostic and mental health services, Arbour SeniorCare utilizes an integrated multidisciplinary approach. Our team is composed of Geriatric Psychiatrists, Advanced Practice Nurses including Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists, Licensed Psychologists, masterâ€™s Level Social Workers, and a Neurobehavioral Specialist.
A Regional Manager oversees the relationship with the extended care facilityâ€™s staff. This professional is responsible for the development and clinical direction of services as well as ensuring the absolute best customer service and care available.
Consultations typically take place during the daytime hours, 3 days a week, to assure appropriate communication between Arbour SeniorCare and facility staff.
Specific clinical services provided include:
Services includes assessment and treatment, case consultation and staff training
Applicants should have prior Psychiatric experience working with a geriatric population, preferably in nursing home or assisted living facility
Desirable skills include in depth knowledge of behavior management techniques and the ability to collaborate with staff of contracted agencies. Experience in senior care outreach is high preferred.

Telephone access available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to emergency calls
Facility staff support including education and training
Arbour SeniorCare believes success results from ongoing communications with key personnel. The program is designed so that Arbour SeniorCare psychiatrists and clinicians meet regularly with facility staff to assure smooth delivery of services.
Masterâ€™s degree or higher in mental health nursing from an accredited college or university recognized by the National League for Nursing or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
Current, valid, and unrestricted license to practice at the highest level of independent practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 5 3. Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a clinical nurse specialist in psychiatric and mental health nursing with APRN-BC designation in one of the following areas:
1. Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing;
2. Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; or
3. Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitione
4. Verification of supervision between supervising psychiatrist and APRNs as required by Massachusetts law
5. PNMHCSs who are licensed to prescribe medication must submit current certification and evidence of authorization from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing and a completed and accepted Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration application and a Federal DEA Certificate
