Essential Job Duties
Takes the initiative and uses innovative ideas to add value to benefit the organization and take ownership of the outcome
Maintains inter- and intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation
Manage laboratory supplies anticipating needs
Perform embedding, sectioning, special stains, immunohistochemistry, and frozen sections
Ensure that established productivity guidelines are followed
Conduct quality control checks and document for each lab procedure on a daily basis
Clinical education in a Histotechnician (HT) program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or an Associate’s Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and training at a hospital
HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) or eligible. Certification must be attained within one year of hire
One year of experience working in an acute care facility as an HT or HTL preferred
