Your Role:
· U nder moderate supervision, set up, conduct experiments, and continue research projects following protocols including the appropriate recording of data and reporting of standard or variant results. The daily research activities include cell culture to propagate, treat with different compounds, and freeze human cell lines; Western blotting for protein expression analysis; real-time PCR for RNA expression analysis; immunofluorescence; propagation of plasmids expressing our genes of interest; performing cell growth assays; clonogenic survival assays, apoptosis and cell death assays; monitoring and maintaining lab reagents and chemicals stocks; preparing solutions and buffers for the lab; placing lab orders. Potentially, the person may be involved in mouse experiments after the necessary training and biosafety protocols. The person will be required to participate and present in lab and journal club meetings. Other required skills include ability to learn quickly and outstanding written and verbal communication.
