Operate all diagnostic radiology equipment (i.e. Fluoroscopy room, portable, and DR room). Perform all diagnostic radiology procedures associated with each type of equipment.
Ability to operate in two other modalities (either CT, MR, Cath Lab, or IR) in addition to Diagnostic Radiology, analyze body habitus to correctly adjust technical factors, position the body correctly, review physicians written orders or obtain pertinent clinical data to consistently produce high-quality images and reduce unnecessary radiation to patients and oneself. Completed department orientation and/or competency skills rosters as required
Maintain an image repeat rate of 5% or less as per ACR recommendations.
Assists the radiologist during (injection, biopsy, drainage) procedures and if necessary (contrast reactions or code blues) by preparing the room, tray, and supplies and by anticipating the needs of the physicians, nursing staff and patients.
Assists the radiologist during fluoroscopy and/or injection procedures (i.e. room and supply preparation, contrast reaction, code blue, patient safety, etc.)
Performs all appropriate procedures in the computer as needed (i.e. scheduling exams, starting and completing exams, proper charging of supplies, etc.)
Completes all proper forms (i.e. pregnancy and contrast form) and scans forms into PACS system.
Documents any work related incident (i.e. patient fall, IV extravasation, work-related injury, etc.) through the designated program in a timely manner.
Responds immediately to Imaging Lead/Manager/Director any equipment problems (i.e. x-ray, portables, computers, etc.)
Performs other related duties as requested by the Imaging Manager/ Lead or Director including but not limited to: stocking rooms, maintaining a clean work area, transporting patients, etc.
