The University of Kentucky Healthcare Enterprise is seeking an experienced Cytotechnologist to perform laboratory procedures under the direction of the Cytopathology Supervisor. This position will be responsible for successfully meeting the required performance standards of competency and proficiency testing, including performing cytology screening procedures with accuracy, and having similar pick-up rates for abnormalities and error rates do not exceed thresholds.
The Cytotechnologist will accurately use our CoPath Plus computer system to record all procedures that are performed and be able to remain calm in high-pressure situations and make quick decisions. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to change priorities as emergency situations arise, and keep up to date on all new procedures and policy changes in the Cytology procedure manual.
The Laboratory at UK Healthcare provides services to all aspects of the Level I trauma center, including solid organ and bone marrow transplant, KY Children's Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center. Our CAP-accredited lab uses state of the art instrumentation and technology
