SEPA Labs is currently seeking a qualified Histology Technician for our Brunswick, Georgia location to work night shift.

The histology technician will prepare histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a pathologist. The candidate needs to possess a broad knowledge of the technical aspects of histology including but not limited to section cutting, embedding, frozen section, and special staining.

Embedding

• Embeds a minimum of 50 large or 30 small or multiple blocks per hour of embedding time, sections a minimum of 35 blocks per hour.

Microtomy

• Persistent sectioning at 4-5 microns, with artifact free sections.
• Recuts on request, to produce additional slides or "levels" performed without loss of tissue or compromise of specimen.

Staining

• Follows all routine H&E and special staining protocols.
• Produces satisfactory positive and negative control slides for each test performed.

Clerical

• Slides correctly labeled and initialed with information accurately transferred to slides.
• Performs QC/QA documentation as required.
• Help file slides and blocks.
