Perform patient evaluation and assessment of vein disease prior to ultrasound examination.
Perform detailed ultrasound examination of patient’s superficial and deep veins to create a venous flow map for diagnostic purposes of recommending a safe and effective treatment plan (based on standardized imaging protocol).
Assist the physician/provider in explaining the treatment plan to the patient and how that treatment plan addresses the patient’s specific needs.
Assist the physician/provider during image guided injection treatment sessions with the appropriate directions regarding needle placement.
Assist the physician during endovenous ablation treatment, and additional saphenous ablation procedures with appropriate imaging regarding catheter placement and withdrawal.
Responsible for pre-treatment set up and subsequent cleaning of the treatment room.
Responsible for adhering to safety standards set forth by OSHA and the IAC.
Perform any additional ultrasound exams as indicated by the treatment plan at the direction of the physician/provider to ensure the efficacy of treatment and safety of the patients.
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialists (RVS) credential. Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS) credential is also accepted.
Certificate of Completion from an accredited (CAAHEP) ultrasound program preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Good computer skills and experience with electronic medical records
Demonstrates knowledge of lower extremity deep and superficial venous and arterial anatomy
