Directs the operations of the Pathology Laboratory Department of both inpatient and outpatient services. Responsible for the management, organization, growth, and supervision of clinical and anatomic pathology laboratory services. Responsible for the overall quality, timeliness, and efficiency of lab services provided. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies including Joint Commission, AABB, and CLSI. Responsible for performance improvement activities related to laboratory services. Also responsible for phlebotomy services in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Bachelor of Science degree and National Board Certification as a Medical Technologist required. Must have a minimum of 5 years pertinent full-time experience in hospital management. Minimally requires a current or temporary Louisiana license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist (CLS-G). Working knowledge of personal computer software and laboratory information systems. Strong decision-making and problem solving skills. In depth knowledge of healthcare reimbursement issues, management of capital and laboratory operations. Ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills with a proven track record of high employee engagement. The necessary stamina to lead a large, busy 24/7 department is critical.
