The Baylor Scott & White Health Field Training Officer performs initial field training and field evaluation for new employees, and responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Our Field Training Officer aides in the ongoing development of the department Quality Management program; which includes, but is not limited to:
§Selecting indicators for quality assurance and improvement; collecting data specific to quality indicators; analyzing data collected;
§Active participation in the Quality Management Committee.
§Conducts clinical and /or operational field evaluations of existing personnel, supervisors and field training officers at the direction of the Clinical Manager.
§Assists in the research and development of clinical practice protocols, policies and procedures.
§Consistently exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and tact when dealing with employees, including or challenging situations.
§Performs job duties as crew member on a ground ambulance.
§Assumes leadership responsibility in the absence of the EMS Shift Commander.
The ideal Field Training Officer will possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and conflict resolution skills. The ability to work in a fast paced environment is also required.

EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
EXPERIENCE - A minimum of 1 year experience required
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Emerg Med Tech - Basic (EMT-B), Emerg Med Tech - Intermediate (EMT-I), Emerg Med Tech - Paramedic (EMT-P): Must have one of the following: -- Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) -- Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate (EMT-I) -- Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P).
