This Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), position is assigned to the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, Imaging Service; Magnetic Resonance section within the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center. The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist, employee at this level is fully functional as an Advanced DRT and is able to carry out the assigned tasks independently. The team member will have a varying assignment including special and complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations and procedures within the Magnetic Resonance section, with and without the use of contrast materials, 100% of the time. The objective of these exams and procedures is to produce Magnetic Resonance Imaging and radiographic studies which are used in medical diagnosis and interpreted by Radiologists to locate injuries, foreign bodies, pathogical conditions or lesions within the body so that proper diagnosis and treatment may be obtained. Duties include but are not limited to: Accurately operates a wide variety of imaging equipment to obtain examinations of acceptable quality utilizing the standardized amount of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) to obtain quality imaging for diagnosis and localization purposes. Prepares contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist that are used in MRI, to include MR Angiography and other exams. Performs and completes imaging studies within the established guidelines for stat, pre-op, urgent and routine exams. Receives and interprets all radiology requests for accuracy, appropriateness; date desired and maintains a thorough knowledge of the ordering process in CPRS. Performs and completes imaging studies within the established guidelines for stat, urgent and routine exams. Maintains electronic records and files of exams performed on patients. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1:00pm - 9:30pm or 2:30pm - 11:00pm, rotation on-call and including holidays. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
