The Respiratory Therapist with the Vanderbilt Lung Institute will:
Perform routine respiratory care procedures in the acute care, critical care and outpatient environment independently; performs respiratory care assessments and diagnostic testing procedures associated with respiratory care.

We are the first multi-specialty program in the country dedicated to treating airway diseases. If you have asthma, allergy or sinus problems, we offer total care including testing, treatment, resolution and management -- all under one roof.

Vanderbilt is the first multi-specialty program in the country dedicated to the evaluation, treatment, and management of airway diseases. Patients have access to a total care system that encompasses evaluation, treatment, resolution, and management.
Our main office location is on West End Avenue next to Vanderbilt University and where the position is available. Additional locations are in Brentwood and Franklin, offer complete services, and include free onsite parking.
The clinic is open Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; however, this is a PRN (as needed) position.

Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation.
Provides education for students in affiliated clinical training programs as well as patients and families.

VENTILATOR MANAGEMENT (NOVICE):- Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate ventilator management in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
RESPIRATORY THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES (NOVICE):- Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate respiratory therapeutic procedures in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
LABORATORY TESTING & ANALYSIS (NOVICE):- Demonstrates sufficient knowledge of the primary laboratory tests required by the department to successfully meet work objectives. Understands the core functions and features of the core laboratory tests. Able to interpret results of the test under general supervision.

Graduate of an approved discipline specific program (or equivalent experience) and 1 year relevant experience.
Preferred Education, Skills, and Experiences:
Active Registered Respiratory Therapy license
Graduate of an approved discipline specific program and 1 year of Respiratory experience
Respiratory care experience in an outpatient environment is highly desired
