KWB Pathology Associates, a unique 100% pathologist-owned laboratory located in Tallahassee, Florida, is seeking a Full-Time Cytotechnologist to join our esteemed team! We have proudly served the greater Big Bend area of Florida for over half a century, striving for excellence in caring for our patients, clients, and employees.
Salary is negotiable. $5000 sign on bonus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
BS. degree and completion of cytotechnology training program required
ASCP certification as a cytotechnologist required
Florida licensure as a cytotechnologist required
Five years’ experience preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately prepare, screen, and interpret Gynecological cytology cases (ThinPrep)
Accurately prepare, screen, and interpret Non-Gynecological cytology cases (urines, body fluids, CSF, FNA from all body sites, bronchial specimens)
Accurately enter interpretations into the computer system
Accurately perform ancillary pap testing, including molecular analysis for HPV and CT/NG
Cover slip slides
Assist with FNA procedures when needed/rapid assessment of FNA cases
Answer technical inquiries from clients
Ability to work independently
Ability to meet the department’s speed and accuracy standards
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, pathologists, and clients
Maintain acceptable proficiency testing scores
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to discern color
Ability to operate light microscope controls
Ability to work with and around laboratory chemicals and fumes
Ability to lift, carry, push up to 50 lbs.
Sitting, standing, bending.

Our History
For more than half a century Ketchum, Wood & Burgert Pathology Associates has been providing independent laboratory cytology and surgical pathology diagnostics to the medical community of the Florida panhandle. Founded in 1949, the group has grown to nine pathologists, who are licensed in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. The laboratory meets all federal and State of Florida licensure requirements and is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Our technical staff works to ensure a rapid turnaround time and accurate results, which helps the physicians we assist in the care and treatment of their patients.
