The Cytologist works independently interpreting and classifying cellular material preliminary to diagnosis by the Pathologist.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal training which will probably be indicated by a bachelor's degree in cytotechnology; ASCP registered or eligible; ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and physicians; ability to manipulate glass slides.
PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:
Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day; distinguish colors; visual acuity.
